42nd street, brimming with rushed faces
\nand populated by the places where they need to be.<\/p>\n
there is no time to see anything
\nbut what is set in front of you.
\nno time for anything but simple and direct meaning.<\/p>\n
but, on the other side of my front door,
\nquite apart from the sound and fury of the city;
\ni am free to populate the dim vacancy
\nwith amiguities and secondary implications.<\/p>\n

then, day after day, the narrow beam of your perception
